Discipleship Ministry
People have been known to say, “I like Jesus, I just don’t like the Church.” You may have even heard someone say this. The chances are very high that the person who spoke these words had not been discipled.
Jesus created the Church. He died for the Church, and the Church is full of imperfect people learning more about their relationship with Jesus and sharing truth with others as they are discipled.
Here are two passages from the Bible that speak to this:
v “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” (Proverbs 19:20, NIV)
v “One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires; he rebels against all sound wisdom.” (Proverbs 18:1, CSB)
At First Aztec, you will discover Discipleship is a huge part of what we do. This is because Jesus told us in the Bible to make disciples.
We offer a variety of Discipleship classes each week for the whole family—babies, children, students, and adults. Classes are held on Sunday’s at 5:30 pm.
Our studies focus on—but are not limited to—the following: prayer, understanding the Bible, evangelism, our identity in Christ, discovering financial peace, dealing with grief, prophecy, and much more!
Look for opportunities to take part in Discipleship. If you have a certain topic or class you would like to see offered, just let us know!
