It’s Going to be Alright
Sometimes we just need to hear that things are going to be okay. The stresses of life—health, job, relationships, etc—can take their toll, and we just need someone to say, “It’s going to be alright.” I heard a song (new to me) on the radio a couple of times the other day and it really clicked. I searched for it on my phone, added it to my playlist, and listened to it over and over again. Its message resonated with me strongly.
The lyrics that stood out were “everything will be alright” and “the whole world’s in His hands…your whole world’s in His hands”. It wasn’t until two days later (yesterday) that I realized the Lord was actually speaking to me. “Katie, everything will be alright. The whole world is in My hands…YOUR whole world is in My hands.”
I’ve had to disconnect a little the last week or so because my health has been wonky. It seems that there has been very little space for anything else but work and then rest. It makes me feel sad and frustrated, and daily I feel like I’m getting behind on everything. I’ve been really hard on myself and irritated at my own circumstance, but yesterday I felt deeply impressed upon my heart from the Lord: “It’s okay to rest. Rest is okay. It’s what’s needed right now, and it’s okay.”
Two very clear messages in one day… God is aware of where I am and what is going on, and it’s okay. He has me in His hands. Jude verses 24 and 25 say: “To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”
I read these verses not too terribly long ago and it really struck me that God Himself is working on my behalf. HE is able to keep me in all circumstances—stumbling, health, and otherwise—and it is HE that will complete the work in me. I need to just step back, let go, and trust Him—let HIM lead.
Today, no matter your circumstance, remember…it’s going to be alright. He has your whole world in His hands, and He will keep you and preserve you. He is able to do the work in your life. You just need to let go and let Him.
