The Light of the Son
In our backyard, there are solar lights that line a brick walkway to the gazebo. These lights are fueled by the sun and the more exposure they have to the sun, the brighter they shine. Even when night comes, they shine brightly. However, when the sun is hidden, and it is dim and cloudy, the lights do not properly recharge. In fact, they do not shine radiantly and sometimes they do not shine at all.
With this in mind, let’s contemplate for a moment what it would be like if we were solar lights. The more time we spend soaking in the light of God’s Presence, walking with His Spirit, consuming His Word, talking with Jesus…the more we glow. The more we immerse ourselves in Him, the more exposure we have to Him, the more His supernatural radiance envelopes us and radiates from us.
Consider this passage from Exodus: “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them. Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai. When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.” Exodus 34:29-35
Incredible, right? Moses’ time with the Lord actually reflected the radiance of God, and it was clear to all around him that he had been in the Presence of God. Is it the same with us? Do we reflect the radiance of God? Do people actually see the reflection of God’s Holy Presence when they are with us?
Today, let’s clear out the sin, fear, doubt, depression, anger, lust, and host of other things obstructing the light of the Son and that are keeping us from recharging properly and thus radiating Christ. Let’s go to the Son—let’s go to Jesus, and bring Him our burdens and let Him helps through repentance, trust, faith and more.
